Family Holidays UK from Caeiago Riding Centre
Local Attractions and Additional Activities
In addition to our fantastic horse riding and trekking holidays there are some great activities and attractions available to our guests. These range from walking to mountain bike riding and many other sports. From leisurely to extreme, there is much available. We aim to add more to this page as we find more and time permitting.
We are excited about the latest developments here at Caeiago. Not wishing to let the grass grow beneath our feet we have decided to develop family holidays UK. These consist of mountain bike and hill walking holidays. In addition there are other breaks option for guests. Please contact us for more information on our ‘family holidays UK’ packages.
We have been approved by Visit Wales after meeting the criteria for cyclists. Our locality is perfect with numerous routes that we will be happy to give you directions for. A little further away there are also many other lovely areas to explore.
Over the next few months details relating to the mountain biking breaks will be added. Be sure to check back on a regular basis. Meanwhile we are including some relevant links for mountain biking in Wales.
“The expectant crowd holds their breath. The course looks clear, nothing can stop the rider now. Helmet strap tightened, hands nervously grasp the handlebars. Dad clutches the discarded stabilizers, Mum bites her nails nervously. And off into the sunset, left foot down, right foot down, wobbling happily and triumphantly along the pavement.
They say “It’s like riding a bike”. Skills we learnt in our early years come flooding back to us from the dusty old garage of our mind. But the day we learnt to ride a bike, unassisted, was special. Our own transport, our own direction, our freedom (at least until tea time). And then would come safety, signals, manoeuvres, learning early on about reckless drivers, the importance of chaining your bike up, preparing us for the world of transport.
Some of us never stopped cycling. Commuting to work, competing, popping to the shops. For others, the skill lies dormant: waiting for a change in financial circumstances or a broken down car, a family to come along or an expanding waistline. It’s easy to forget how much fun can be had on a bike. But we didn’t forget. Left foot down, right foot down. There’s nothing quite like it, this simple piece of machinery that can hold our weight, rumble over rocks, glide over tarmac. It’s special. And all our staff at Tredz think it’s pretty special too.
Congestion is ballooning and, with the Department for Transport predicting traffic volumes doubling by 2025, our humble bicycle might, just might, be part of the solution. The Welsh Government has recently set out ground-breaking plans for local councils to be legally obliged to develop and maintain safe cycle routes, and cycling campaigners are calling for similar legislation to be adopted throughout Britain.
As H.G. Wells said, “When I see an adult on a bicycle, I do not despair for the future of the human race.” With rising fuel costs, it’s never been a better time to downsize to two wheels and do your bit for the environment, your health and your bank balance.”
