Riding Holiday UK – Blaenrhysglog Ride
We head down through the village of Ffarmers and over to the Cwrt Y Cadno valley via lanes and forestry tracks. We stop for lunch in a clearing in Blaenrhysglog Forestry where we get a superb view of the valley.
The afternoon comprises of heading back through the valley towards home.
Blaenrhysglog is nearby to Llanwrda. Llanwrda is a parish and village on the River Towy. Situated in the county of Carmarthenshire in west Wales. It is approximately 4 miles (6.5 km) south west of Llandovery.
The south end of the parish is intersected by the road between Llandeilo and Llandovery. The village stands at the junction to Lampeter and Aberaeron.
6 miles from the village centre are the Dolaucothi Gold Mines
Owain Glyndŵr – Rebel’s resting-place
It has been claimed that the church is the last resting-place of Owain Glyndŵr. He was the last native Welshman to hold the title of Prince of Wales.
Owain Glyndŵr, or Owain Glyn Dŵr, was a Welsh ruler. He was the last native Welshman to hold the title Prince of Wales. He instigated a fierce and long-running but ultimately unsuccessful revolt against the English rule of Wales.
